THE ECLIPSE: THE EYE OF THE SOUL
Today’s great event ended up being one of great success. I call this eclipse, THE EYE OF THE SOUL. The enigmatic event had a great impact on people regardless of the short time this event took place.
This solar eclipse won’t occur in this exact path for about 300 and some more years. I was at the RIGHT TIME AND PLACE to watch the eclipse; It was MAGICAL, SURREAL, and ENIGMATIC, but the GREATEST thing other than the ECLIPSE was to experience this event with my FAMILY. Sharing this IMPORTANT and MESMERIZING event with my family was priceless.
BEFORE THE EVENTS
Before the events, I thought we were not going to have the right conditions for it but finally, it was a PERFECT DAY. So much excitement since a month or so ago before the eclipse. At the school where I work, we had special visitors talking about the eclipse, the planets, and the stars. Also, a lot of promotion through the media and people around talking about the event created a lot of enthusiasm.
Today finally arrived and I was getting excited by the minute. I went to work until 11:30. On my way out one of my coworkers told me to be careful and I said don’t worry I have my glasses. Then she said “Not just the glasses but your aura”.
This made me reflect for a moment and I said to myself I won’t be afraid because is the mind that gives power to those thoughts. This was not going to disturb my plan at all. Then I went back home, and we got ready to go. Before I left, I lit up some sage and passed it through me for a few seconds just in case. On our way to our destination, we could see a lot of people in the area where I live, and they were heading towards Lake Memphremagog. Lots of people, lots of cars, and lots of excitement. It’s incredible how people could gather and be united in such an AMAZING event. Some schools closed or closed early, and people certainly took time off to share this great experience with their loved ones.
THE SPECIAL PLACE
Once we got to Owls Head which sold 500 tickets to people to see the eclipse. We arrived there at 1:30 or a bit before. Before we went up the hill in the chair lift, I found 25 cents on the ground and I said, “This is good luck”. Then on our way up, I lost my special water bottle because I decided to take a picture on our way up. Once we got there, we went around and decided to stay in front near the chair lifts so that when the event was finished, we would be the first ones to head back down.
THE PROCESS
Then we started watching the on and off the sun with our special glasses and talking to people around us. Also, we were so lucky because a guy brought his huge telescope, and we could see the eclipse on and off in FULL SPECTRUM. It was SURREAL to see it so close with ALL the details and flares around the sun. I feel that this was an extra treat we didn’t expect but got it. We also took pictures, and videos of the eclipse.
THE ABORIGINAL’S PERSPECTIVE ABOUT THE ECLIPSE
Suddenly I saw an aboriginal woman using a pow-pow drum and at one point she used it around another woman which I think was related to her. It was interesting to see this because I learned that the Aboriginals have different beliefs about the meaning of the sun and the moon.
The sun is the woman, and the moon is the man. Some aboriginal communities say that the woman (sun) pursues the man (moon) across the sky daily and sometimes meets during the eclipse. Also, the reason why the Aboriginals scream and play the drums is to scare evil away. According to Architectural Digest, it symbolizes a time of darkness and spiritual renewal, a time of introspection and getting rid of old energies. Many Indigenous communities see the eclipse as a time for reunion, peace, and family. Amazingly this is the way I was feeling about this UNIQUE EXPERIENCE.
MORE THAN AN ECLIPSE
It is amazing how changes happen from one minute to the other. The beauty, the mystery, the silence of the eclipse while it was happening was a great enigma. The whole experience was powerful, and I felt it in the eye of my soul. While the eclipse was happening, we could see the beautiful colors in the sky like yellow tones, dark blue, lighter blue, greyish, and white.
When I saw the moon covering the sun with the big telescope I could see the pink flares around the sun. It was beautiful and astonishing. Also, when the moon started covering the sun completely the temperature dropped quickly. It was freezing!!!!
CONCLUSION
The eclipse was not just about the moon covering the sun completely for a few minutes.
It ended up being a whole experience of events that made it more interesting than expected.
It was a physical, emotional, and spiritual experience. Physical because of all the sudden changes that happen during the eclipse.
Emotional because of the people’s excitement and expectations about the event. Spiritual because of the aboriginal woman, my coworker, and the way the eclipse made me feel. At a certain point, I felt complete silence and peace regardless of the amount of people present. Is as if at that exact moment the eye of the soul stared at us and we all quieted down. So next time you can be part of such an AMAZING EVENT don’t be afraid to show up. You will be surprised by ALL the things you could learn and experience on many levels.
Big HUGS!!!
